Requirements

  • Degree within a design-related discipline: i.e.: Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Cognitive Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or related field
  • An understanding of user-centred design methods and techniques
  • Understanding of design and research related tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Mural etc.
  • Analytical thinking, process-oriented skills, good verbal, and written skills
  • An awareness of web technologies and responsive design patterns
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Keen to learn, evolve, and continually challenge yourself and the way you do things

Responsibilities

  • Research users and help identify the best methods to understand their needs
  • Contribute to the usability testing process from the development of user recruitment briefs through to test moderation, analysis and report writing
  • Apply qualitative research methods such as user requirements gathering, prototype testing, guerrilla research, and other approaches to understand business and user needs
  • Work with clients and colleagues to understand how factors like policy, legislation, business constraints and technology impact user experience
  • Apply best practice in researching and designing for users with accessibility and assisted digital needs
  • Help run meetings and workshops with clients, stakeholders, and users – with the support from other members of the team – to align business and user needs
  • Design user interfaces for both mobile, tablet and desktop – following best practice in information architecture, navigation, and user flows.
  • Create iterative prototypes using tools such as Sketch and Figma for user testing.
  • Iterate design solutions based on feedback, from clients, colleagues and stakeholders
