Responsibilities

  • The post holder will work as part of a team providing healthcare services to patients within an inpatient ward, focusing on the direct needs of service users undergoing treatment.
  • They will work within their clinical competencies and base knowledge, following defined protocols and the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales.
  • All duties will be delegated and supervised by a registered nurse, in line with the NLIAH (2010) All Wales Guidelines for Delegation.
  • They will follow care plans appropriate to their role, record patient observations, and document care in patient notes, ensuring entries are countersigned by a registered nurse.
  • The post holder will help promote a culture of physical health and wellbeing that supports recovery.
  • They will participate in required training and development to meet the KSF outline for the post, including all statutory and mandatory training.
  • This post is currently advertised at Band 2. The role is under national review and may progress to Band 3 with an updated job description.
  • If appointed, your manager will keep you informed and support you through any changes, including training needs.
