What is the role of a Healthcare Support Worker at Brixham Hospital?
The Healthcare Support Worker provides the highest achievable standard of care following patients' assessments of needs and works alongside Multi-disciplinary teams to enable patients to reach their maximum rehabilitation potential.
What kind of training and development opportunities are offered?
You will be supported with in-house training and external courses, along with regular supervision and appraisal to help you reach your maximum potential and development.
What specific clinical tasks will I be expected to perform?
You will be expected to competently undertake tasks such as cannulation and venepuncture, taking and interpreting vital signs, making referrals to safeguarding teams, and liaising with the wider Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT).
Will I be working independently?
You will work effectively and without direct supervision alongside Registered Nurses/Practitioners on a daily basis, but you will also have guidance from the senior nursing team and Matron.
