  • To greet patients attending the outpatient department, entering admission and discharge times onto the patient administration systems as appropriate, dealing with any queries that may arise.
  • To undertake filing, retrieval and day to day maintenance of health records in accordance with policies and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the filing system to facilitate reliable and efficient access, ensuring that health records are maintained to a high standard and are repaired/replaced as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • produce and maintain clinic lists, while ensuring patients’ health records are located and prepared in time for the start of the designated clinic session, including preparation of patient outcome sheets for each clinic.
  • Whilst keeping the patient administration system up to date and accurate at all times, including registering new referrals, amending patient demographics and the tracking of all case notes to ensure their current location is recorded.
  • To have a high level of communication skills when dealing with telephone enquiries that are of a sensitive nature and resolving problem areas.
  • To greet patients attending the outpatient department, entering admission and discharge times onto the patient administration systems as appropriate, dealing with any queries that may arise.
