Responsibilities

  • Assumes full responsibility for the general day to day operations of the Personal Support Workers (PSWs)
  • Participates in the hiring, orientation, evaluation and corrective action of PSWs
  • Monitors the care and services provided to residents through direct supervision and formal and information audits, on all shifts
  • Promote improved practices through mentorship, coaching and education
  • Assists the Nursing Team in development and evaluation of personal care programs
  • Lead monthly PSW meetings
  • Perform audits as per schedule, analyze results and report analysis at monthly quality meetings
  • Assist in development and implementing corrective action plans
  • Promotes and respects the Resident Bill of Rights
  • Effectively communicates and interacts with residents, family members, visitors and volunteers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Responds to resident or family member concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken Via the Director of Care’s direction
  • Actively promotes, supports and assists in customer service programs
  • Acts as a role model and promotes collaboration and coordination of the interdisciplinary team
