Responsibilities

  • The post holder will support the mental wellbeing and health of patients
  • Promoting positive mental health and employing behavioural techniques to increase mental wellbeing using a recovery-based model of care
  • Work within a health care team consisting of Clinical Service Managers, Senior Charge Nurses and Mental Health Nurse Practitioners
  • As part of a national service, will support with mental health and wellbeing calls, which may be of a very diverse nature covering all clinical aspects from an infinite variety of callers, whose cultural, social and emotional diversities require acknowledging and taking into consideration during the consultation
  • Work with clients experiencing a variety of mental health and wellbeing concerns via telephone. Through completing a mental health triage assessment, the post holder will provide patients with a safe and appropriate outcome
  • Undertake clinical risk assessments, based on latest empirical evidence and compliant with local policies and procedures
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to both the specific client group and mental health
  • Comply with the requirements of regulatory bodies and be aware of any change in these. To maintain up to date knowledge of all relevant legislation
  • Ensure that all interventions are carried out to the highest standard and in accordance with current best evidence and related practice within the work area
