Responsibilities

  • Communicates with shift managers and Administrative Supervisors regarding bed availability.
  • Provides nursing units the information on patients to be placed via the Bedboard or telephone.
  • Logs all appropriate information on the patient placement log and the Bedboard. Receives and books admission information from the Emergency Department, ancillary departments and physician offices.
  • Receives and logs patient orders and distributes to nursing unit upon patient arrival.
  • Creates and maintains patient placement spreadsheets and throughput reports.
  • Assists NOM/ANM with generating and distributing department reports.
  • Arranges for STAT cleans; calls and/or pages ready beds to areas where patients are waiting.
  • Informs Administrative Supervisor of issues as they arise.
  • Responsible for taking calls from nursing units regarding staffing deficits and bed management issues.
  • Responsible for taking calls from and maintaining logs for flex pool team members and Alternate Duty Program employees regarding work availability.
  • Responsible for communicating staffing needs in a timely manner to Administrative Supervisors and nursing unit leadership.
  • Assists Administrative Supervisors with staffing.
  • Responsible for tracking staff sick/absent calls.
  • Demonstrates telephone etiquette, communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and to prioritize appropriately.
  • Responds to inquiries and concerns of various customers of the Administrative Supervisors’ office, some of which may be of a confidential nature.
  • Establishes and maintains files and records.
  • Operates copy machine and fax machine.
  • Orders and stocks office supplies.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Attends departmental meetings and participates in process improvement initiatives.
  • Completes all Orlando Health mandatory education.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
