  • We have an exciting opportunity to join our Newton Abbot Community Hospital therapy team as a part time band 3 Rehabilitation Support Worker.
  • This is as a fixed term position for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave.

  • Our patients are predominately older, frail patients who require a supportive and encouraging approach to allow them to achieve what is important to them.
  • You will work alongside other members of the multi-disciplinary team including nurses and GP’s.
  • We currently provide a therapy service on a Saturday, and you will be required to work approximately one Saturday in five.
  • This post offers 26 hours per week.
  • Delivering rehabilitation programmes to patients with the aim of increasing their independence and facilitating discharge from hospital under the direction of qualified therapy staff.
  • This will include Physical exercise programmes, functional activity practice and cognitive interventions.
  • Supporting patients with the provision of equipment to support their independence.
  • Supporting patients at the time of their discharge.
  • This may include attending the patients property as part of home visits or on the day of discharge.
