What is the main focus of the Research Support Assistant position?
The main focus of the Research Support Assistant position is to support the delivery of the NIHR funded randomised controlled trial, EMDR for people with early psychosis (EASE Trial), by assisting with participant recruitment, assessments, data management, and the overall smooth running of the trial.
What qualifications are required for this role?
Candidates must hold a degree level qualification in Psychology (2:1 or above) or a related discipline, and have knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, as well as an understanding of research governance, ethics, and data management.
Is experience in mental health services necessary?
While not mandatory, experience working within mental health services, research teams, or with underrepresented communities would be a strong advantage.
Where will the Research Support Assistant be based?
The post will be based at The Lantern Centre in Preston, with travel required across the region to meet participants and clinical teams.
What skills are important for this position?
Important skills for this position include sensitivity, excellent communication skills, the ability to engage with participants experiencing mental health difficulties, and the capability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team.
