Responsibilities

  • The Storekeeper Despatch is one of a team of 4 Civil Servant positions within the Receipts and Despatch team which is augmented by regular RN Supply Chain personnel.
  • Reporting to the MSG Manager via the CPOSC MSG they are primarily responsible for the correct preparation, packaging, and documentation of all military commodities being issued from RNAS Yeovilton to their ultimate destinations both within the UK and worldwide (including RN/RFA ships at sea) and in accordance with International regulatory regulations (ADR, IATA, & IMDG) and where appropriate raise prepare customs declarations such as the NATO form 302, and prepare import license data for destinations within the USA.
  • They shall also be required to assist in the processing of inbound freight as their duties permit and assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles using a 4000lb Forklift Truck (subject to appropriate licensing).
  • Although not a prerequisite the successful applicant shall be expected to undertake external training at other MOD establishments to attain qualifications in Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) Consignment Tracking (VITAL), Carriage of Dangerous Goods (DG), Forklift Truck (FLT) Operator, and any other course subsequently identified as a requirement for them to fulfil their assigned duties.
  • During the course of their duties, they may be required to investigate discrepant consignments and report findings via the management chain.
