What type of patients do we care for on the Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward?
We care for patients with a variety of injuries, including fractures, soft tissue trauma, and spinal injuries, ranging from minor lacerations to complex road traffic trauma patients.

Nurses will be responsible for taking charge of a group of patients, considering the wishes of the patients, relatives, and carers while ensuring that all their needs are met.
How is medication managed on the ward?
Nurses are responsible for the control and custody of all medications and drugs, administering them as prescribed and adhering to Trust policy regarding safety and documentation.
Are there opportunities to take on additional roles within the ward?
Yes, nurses have the opportunity to undertake additional roles, such as link nurse positions, which will be supported with additional training.
