Responsibilities

  • To act as the first point of contact when a referral comes into the service from primary care or another specialty. This will include the management of all referrals determining the level of urgency and appropriateness of the referral with the support of the Lead Triage Nurse, decisions will be complex as they will relate to people experiencing a variety of gynaecological symptoms with varying degrees of severity and the role will be demanding due to it being fast paced.
  • The post holder will be expected to accept, reject, upgrade and downgrade referrals into the service.
