Responsibilities

  • You will work on one of our OPU wards and the Hospital at Home team with their team of geriatric consultants, SHOs, specialist Medical Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates and therapists.
  • Depending on the situation with the COVID pandemic you may be responsible for patients with COVID or a cohort of COVID contacts.
  • You will be responsible for the regular review and management of the inpatients on your ward or caseload under the supervision of the geriatricians.
  • There will also be opportunity to gain outpatients experience in general or specialist clinics.
  • The post involves working standard days Monday to Friday, with the option of participation in the general medical registrar on-call rota.
  • or with a requirement to work 1:6 weekends (time to be taken back during the week) in the Hospital at Home.
  • Working hours will be 40 across the week working between 08:00 to 18:00.
  • You will be part of the multidisciplinary team arranging ongoing rehabilitation and discharge.
  • You will be expected to have very good communication skills and communicate regularly with the MDT, patients and their relatives.
