Responsibilities

  • - The post holder will be responsible for the ward-based care of 33 patients on Manvers ward, including an 8-bedded acute respiratory unit.
  • - They will also periodically work on the Acute Medicine ward, looking after recently admitted patients.
  • - There will be opportunities in this post to build on the skills and experiences developed earlier in their career and to lead independent ward rounds, independently assess unwell patients, and be supported in the transition to more senior medical roles.
  • - The post holder will be expected to take an active role in education and research.
  • - This will involve teaching junior medical staff and medical students, and completing one audit or research project.
  • - They will have opportunities to present at the weekly departmental educational meeting.
  • - The post holder will be expected to attend the structured teaching programmes provided by the department and regular SHO teaching (FY2 or IMT1/2 as appropriate).
